BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) - Lubrizol, which manufactures specialty chemicals, has chosen the city of Bowling Green to be the site of an $11 million expansion.
The expansion will take place at the company’s Main Street production facility.
“We'll be able to expand what we do to some new technology and move beyond just becoming competitive and continue to lead the industry,” said Matthew Paquette, Manufacturing Manager at Lubrizol.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the expansion Wednesday. Mangers say the city’s track record of cooperation with the company made Bowling Green an easy choice.
“The city here has been great for us, they've helped us with them picking our facility,” said Plant Manger Sean Stadler.
“There's a close degree of cooperation... A lot of communities can't make that statement, but it's very true in Bowling Green. We enjoy a close working partnership type relationship with our industrial community,” said Bowling Green Mayor Richard Edwards.
The company has not announced any hiring because of the expansion, but hopes to bring new employees on board soon.
“Not only do we maintain the jobs that are here but hopefully we can continue to expand and add more jobs over the year,” said Paquette.
