Winterfest set to kick off February 15 in BG | Community Spirit

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Press Release) - BG Winterfest 2013 is back in full force with its 5th Annual winter themed event. This three day event is being held February 15 – 17 at various locations around the Bowling Green community. Winterfest is more than your ordinary winter event by offering more than 30 events for community members to participate in. There can be fun for individuals of all ages to enjoy.  

Activities back by popular demand include the Red Cross Fire & Ice fundraiser, the Chili & Soup Cook Off,  BG Parks & Rec Frostbite Run and the Ice Garden featuring an interactive photo area. Last year’s ice castle was an enjoyable sight to see and this year’s ice sculpture will be a must see for every family in town! 

New to Winterfest this year includes a Tri-State Skating Competition located at the BGSU Ice Arena, OHSSA Wrestling Tournament at the Stroh Center, Heritage Corner Ice Chalet downtown, downtown retail open house Sparkle Night, and BG Arts Council Sandwich Stroll featuring downtown restaurants. Numerous other events will be stationed throughout the city and the BGSU campus as well throughout the entire weekend. So grab your winter gear and make sure to experience this one of a kind winter event.
