20th annual Black Swamp Arts Festival to take place Sept. 7-9

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) - The 20th annual Black Swamp Arts Festival will take place Sept. 7 through Sept. 9 this year. It is free of charge and will feature live music and art throughout the weekend.

It starts Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. and runs through Sept. 9. Friday opens with live music on the Main Stage located off Main Street (directly behind Panerra Bread and Sam B's restaurants). Wood County Invitational Art Shows will be open Saturday and Sunday.

The Women's Club of Bowling Green, the Bowling Green Zonta Club and the American Association of University Women, Bowling Green Branch have joined forces with Downtown Bowling Green for the Fashion, Food and Fine Art scholarship luncheon during this year’s Art Walk.

The Downtown Farmers’ Market managers have set the schedule for the 2012 season and invite all returning vendors, and area farmers, cottage food producers and artisans who are interested in becoming vendors to attend one of two informational meetings.

A Full Day of Holiday Fun in Downtown BG on Dec. 17

Round up the family and come celebrate the holiday season at the Third Annual Community Concert. The concert begins at 3:30 in the Wood County Courthouse Atrium. Admission is free, with an optional donation for the toy drive or the mitten tree. This year’s lineup includes some favorites from past concerts along with several new groups, all singing songs of the season. The day also features free wagon rides from 1:30-5:30 and building tours  of the historic Wood County Courthouse from 2:00-3:00.

Earlier in the day, Mrs. Claus will be making a visit to the Wood County Public Library to meet with kids and share the holiday spirit. Mrs. Claus will be visiting from 11:00-3:00 and would love to see a crowd of smiling faces to welcome her. Saturday the 17th is also the last session of the Winter Market.

Holiday Fun For Kids and Adults at Wood County Library Dec. 10

This year Santa Claus will be making a special appearance at 10:30 on Saturday Morning, December 10th, at the Wood County District Public Library to read to all the kids who have been nice this year. The library is at 251 N. Main Street in Bowling Green.

Later the same day, the Gingerbread Elf will also lead children in stories, song and creative play from 1:00-3:00p.m. Both of these events are being held in the children’s area.
